About Lexi
Lexi is a gentle girl with a soft heart who needs a patient adopter willing to let her settle at her own pace. She can easily become overwhelmed in large, open spaces, so she'll need to start her new life in a small launch room where she can feel secure before slowly exploring the rest of the home.
To help Lexi feel safe, her environment should include plenty of cosy hideaways - cardboard boxes, cat igloos, shelves, dressers, scratch posts, and cat trees. Having both high and low safe spots around the house will give her the confidence to relax and observe her surroundings comfortably.
Lexi will be timid in a new environment and may take some time before showing her true, affectionate self. A calm, patient adopter who understands feline body language will be the best match for her. Respectful teens who know when to give her space would be suitable.
She's untested with other cats and has been a bit hissy when seeing them, so she may be happiest as a single cat. She may do okay with a calm, social dog if interactions are monitored carefully, though she has never lived with dogs and may prefer a dog‑free home.
About Lexi
Lexi was surrendered due to her previous owner being unable to afford her care. She once swiped at a young child who was poking at her, so she'll need a home without small children. She doesn't enjoy being picked up, held, or restrained closely - she prefers affection on her own terms.
When she first arrived at the shelter, Lexi was overwhelmed and worried, but she has been slowly settling in and now enjoys gentle attention. In her previous home, she loved curling up at the end of the bed and would happily seek out affection from visitors once she felt comfortable.
If you're looking for a sweet, sensitive companion who will blossom with patience and kindness, Lexi may be the perfect match.
