About Oreo

Oreo is a sweet boy who will feel most comfortable starting out in a small, quiet area of the home where he can settle in at his own pace. Blocking off hard‑to‑reach spots and any possible escape gaps will help him feel safe and secure, and once he's had time to adjust, he can gradually be given access to the rest of the house. Large open spaces can feel a bit overwhelming at first, so a slow and gentle introduction works best. Oreo will thrive in a home that offers lots of cozy and enriching options, including scratching posts and cat trees, hides like cardboard boxes or cat igloos, and access to shelves or dressers so he has plenty of safe spaces both up high and down low.
Oreo is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who can appreciate that he may be a little shy in new environments and just needs some time to show his true, lovely personality. He would be best suited to a home with teens who can read basic cat body language and know when to give him space. Oreo came into care with his siblings a little older and missed out on some early socialisation, so he may be a bit hissy or stand‑offish at first - but this doesn't last forever. With gentle hand feeding, cheek rubs, and someone willing to start fun wand‑toy play sessions, Oreo quickly warms up, leans into affection, and can even become delightfully bunty. He loves his food, a nice big scratching post, and engaging enrichment toys, and he may do especially well with a confident, friendly cat companion who can help guide him, boost his confidence, and give him a playmate to grow alongside.
