Meet Smudge 🖤

Smudge is a beautiful young "catten" with a gentle spirit and a story of resilience. Originally coming into care as a stray and recovering from tick paralysis, she has had a challenging start to life and is still learning that people can be safe and predictable.

Smudge will be a project kitty for the right adopter. She is very undersocialised and can display conflicted behaviours around human interaction, often wanting to be involved but feeling unsure when attention is directed towards her. While she is still touch-avoidant and not a cat who seeks out cuddles, she has made wonderful progress in foster care and continues to grow in confidence at her own pace.

One of Smudge's favourite things is playtime. She loves interactive toys and play sessions are often the quickest way to see her personality shine. She is also very fond of other cats and gains a lot of confidence from their presence. Although she may initially appear nervous and socially awkward around feline friends, she genuinely enjoys their company and would likely benefit from a calm, friendly cat companion.

Smudge is looking for a quiet home with a predictable routine, minimal foot traffic, and adopters who understand that trust cannot be rushed. She may never become a lap cat, and that's okay. What she needs most is a family who can appreciate her for who she is and celebrate the small victories along the way.

For someone with patience, realistic expectations, and a kind heart, Smudge has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion. Watching her learn to feel safe and comfortable in her world will be an incredibly rewarding journey.
