About Valerie
Hi there my name is Valerie and I'm a sweet girl. Though I've had a difficult start to life. On day one at RSPCA my friends observed that I'm a sweet affectionate girl that loves cuddles!
I have had a rough start so I really need to learn to trust again I am particuarly fearful of men. I need careful and slow introductions to stimulus and people. To help me, I spent some time in foster care and my personality blossomed. The smells in the kitchen can cause me to "counter surf" and get into the rubbish. I'm a typical Beagle!
My friends found that walking me in the middle of the day when its quieter helps me stay calm as their is less overwhelming stimulus. In my calm home environment I love sniffs, pats and cuddles and will sit or lay across your lap on the couch. I've learned to play with soft toys and ropes. My favourite toy is my squeaky duck. I'm looking to build a bond with a patient and committed family prepared to work on my confidence long term.
Ideally I'm seeking a quiet home with predictable routines and to live with an easy going canine companion. I am also best suited to adults and older children
I am fearful of boisterous behaviour so can not live with young children. I will need a secure yard. Breed experience would be beneficial and you must be prepared for high training needs and behavioural issues that will need long term management.
