About Pumpkin

Say hello to Pumpkin! A sweet, gentle girl looking for her forever home! Pumpkin can be a little shy at first, but with some patience and yummy treats, shell be sure to steal your heart!Pumkin came into care with an eye injury and now only has one eye, she can be a little unsure and avoidant of touch to start off with. She has likely missed out on some important socialization and in combination of her breed specific behaviours, will need a family who are patient and understanding of her quirks.Pumpkin will need slow introduction into the home and some reassurance; she has not had sight in one of her eyes which may have contributed to her being a little shy of touch. She warms up fast and once she leads interactions, she doesn't mind a little chest and back rub! She also loves her treats!She has only really ever known other Italian Greyhounds, so may do ok with a very calm and respectful dog friend who must meet at time of adoption.We recommend older teens in the home who are willing to be involved her general confidence building in the home.Untested with cats, but being a hound, it is always good to be very cautious and do safe and controlled meets with cats and other small animals.If you think you have a space in your heart for sweet Pumpkin, apply today!
