About Pippy
Meet Pippy - a gentle, sweet soul who's just beginning her journey to trust. Pippy came into care a very worried girl, lacking socialization with humans. Due to this, Pippy is still learning how to feel safe around people and can be a little avoidant and unsure at first. Despite this, with calm, passive time and a patient approach, Pippy begins to relax and reveals her affectionate side - she loves gentle cuddles and giving soft kisses on the nose.
Pippy is still developing her confidence in the world around her, and we are seeing progress everyday! The team at RSPCA have been working closely with Pippy and training her to walk on a lead and harness. She is easily spooked by loud noise but otherwise is doing very well so far. As she is still showing fearful behaviour in the big wide world, she will need time to fully settle into her new home before any outdoor walks are introduced. Once she's relaxed, very short walks in quiet areas will help slowly build her confidence.
She has shown a love for puzzle toys, enrichment, and squeaky toys - these will be wonderful tools to keep her mind stimulated and help her feel safe. Pippy currently enjoys spending time outdoors but should be allowed indoor/outdoor access so she can build trust and connection with her new family at her own pace.
Pippy would do best in a calm, experienced home with no young children (teens and up only), and would benefit from living with a calm, friendly dog who can offer gentle companionship and guidance. With time, space, and plenty of love, Pippy has so much potential to blossom into a loyal, loving companion.
May benefit from a calm, doggie friend
