About Franklin

Franklin is a sweet, affectionate, and loving boy who can be nervous in new environments and around new people. He will thrive in a home that can provide structure and routine to help him feel secure. Franklin would love to be included as an indoor family member, and he may benefit from crate training, as having his own safe space could help him when he's feeling overwhelmed. Once he has settled in and feels comfortable, his cheeky, goofy personality begins to shine, especially when toys are involved.

He is a smart boy who enjoys enrichment and has shown a strong interest in wobblers and snuffle mats. Feeding his daily meals through enrichment activities is recommended to keep his mind active and engaged. Franklin can be worried by close handling and restraint, occasionally resulting in nervous wees, so he will need continued work on touch consent and gentle, positive reinforcement training. He already knows how to sit and shake and would love a family willing to continue building on his training.

To help him settle successfully, it is recommended that someone be home with him for the first few days. Franklin is best suited to a home with older children due to his nervous nature, and all family members should meet him at the time of adoption. He will also need to meet any resident dogs. While he can be unsure of other dogs and may become a little silly or reactive, he has the potential to do well with a calm, social dog who can guide him and help build his confidence. With patience, understanding, and continued support, Franklin will blossom into a devoted and joyful companion.
