About lucy
Mel is a shy, gentle young girl who is looking for a patient and supportive family to help her build confidence at her own pace. She can be very worried in new environments, meeting new people and when walking on lead, likely due to missing out on key early socialisation. With time, she warms up well and often looks to familiar people for reassurance. Mel loves her food and is learning to use enrichment toys, which can help build her confidence and keep her mind busy. She will need positive, gradual lead training in quiet spaces, as busy areas and lead pressure can be overwhelming for her. We recommend keeping her home for the first few weeks to allow her to settle, bond with her new family and feel secure before attempting walks. Mel is best suited to a calm, quiet lifestyle and is likely not suited to fast-paced or noisy environments. Older, calm teenagers may be suitable, particularly a family comfortable reading dog body language and willing to give her the time she needs. She can be unsure when meeting other dogs and may become overwhelmed during close or energetic interactions, though she may do well with a calm, social older dog after a successful meet-and-greet. Mel will thrive with a gentle, understanding family committed to helping her feel safe.My adoption price includes: A FREE 4kg bag of ROYAL CANIN dry food My desexing, microchip and vaccinations Adoption Price: $450 If you think I might be the perfect fit for your family, please fill out an adoption application today! www.rspcaqld.org.au/apply-to-adopt
