About Dorothy
Meet Dorothy, a stunning Maremma Sheepdog x with a big heart and a love for companionship. Dorothy is looking for her perfect country-style home where she can live her very best life - surrounded by space, fresh air, and people who understand the unique charm of working breeds.Dorothy is an active girl who loves to run and play, even with a ball. She's also a natural protector, and like many Maremmas, barking is part of her "job" - it's just her way of keeping everyone safe. While she isn't too interested in being an indoor dog right now, with the right home and plenty of patience, she may choose to come inside on her own terms. She would thrive in a home where she has another calm, social canine friend to keep her company. Dorothy has shown she gets along well with other dogs both in the home and here at the shelter, so she'll happily share her space with the right buddy. Small children are also fine, so long as they come along for a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone clicks.Dorothy isn't suited to suburban living, but she would flourish in a lifestyle where she can be part of a property and included in daily routines. She could potentially live alongside a small number of farm animals with proper introductions - even chickens, provided they're in a coop to start with, and introductions are taken slow. Cats, however, are a no-go, as she has shown too much interest in chasing them. The most important thing for her is being part of her family's daily life. With regular interaction, space to stretch her legs, and a canine friend by her side, she'll be the happiest girl in the world. If you're looking for a loyal and playful companion to join your family, Dorothy is ready to meet you!My adoption price includes: A FREE 4kg bag of ROYAL CANIN dry food My desexing, microchip and vaccinations Adoption Price: $245 If you think I might be the perfect fit for your family, please fill out an adoption application today! www.rspcaqld.org.au/apply-to-adopt
