About Sullivan

Sullivan is a sweet, affectionate boy with so much love to give. Since heading into foster care, he has been settling in beautifully and showing everyone what a lovely companion he can be. He's enjoyed spending time with his foster sister, playing throughout the day and learning how to share his space with another dog. He's also taken everything in stride, sleeping peacefully through the night in his own room, enjoying his meals, and accompanying his foster family on walks.

This handsome boy loves his food and would thrive in a home that incorporates plenty of enrichment into his daily routine. Puzzle feeders, food toys, and creative feeding activities will help keep his busy mind occupied while slowing down his enthusiasm at mealtimes.

Sullivan can be a little unsure of the world in the city and is still building his confidence. He has had limited social experiences beyond rural living in the past, so he is looking for a patient and understanding family who will allow him time to settle and adjust at his own pace. Once comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature really shines through.

He would be happiest in a calm home environment where introductions to new experiences can be carefully managed. Busy, noisy areas can be overwhelming for him, so quiet walks and relaxed outings are much more his style. Sullivan would also benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement training to help him develop confidence, impulse control, and good manners.

Sullivan has shown himself to be social with other dogs and may enjoy a canine companion, pending a successful meet and greet. However, because he can be protective of valued resources, he will need a family who understands the importance of feeding dogs separately and allowing him space while he enjoys meals, treats, or enrichment items.
