About Checkers

Hey there! My name is Checkers and check me out! I am a mid sized tailless staffy x cattle boy looking for a new home! I am a sweet and affectionate boy, and volunteers love taking me for walks and sitting down as I will hop up on the chair to sit next to them for cuddles. I do give out some kisses but I am not over the top with my love. I am a very clever boy and need a home that will be able to put the time in to keep my mind active and occupied and burn my energy. My nickname is springbok as I have a very powerful jump, I just like to meet you eye to eye, because of this it is recommended I go to a home with secure fencing. Older kids are also recommended as I am still learning not to jump on people. I have not learnt how to make doggy friends appropriately, I can be very rude and pushy, staff say that at this time they recommend I am a only doggo and I am not suitable for off leash dog parks or beaches. With training and appropriate socialisation I may one day be able to make new friends without embarrasing my new owner. Please don't let that put you off, as everyone believes that once I am in a good loving home I will truly shine.
