Meet Nugget, a sweet, loyal, and affectionate gentleman looking for a calm and understanding home. While he can be worried by new people, unfamiliar environments, and sudden noises, once he builds trust, Nugget forms strong bonds and becomes a loving companion who enjoys nothing more than being close to his favourite person. He is a true cuddle bug who loves resting his head in your lap or hands and would benefit from a home where someone is around more often than not.

Nugget will thrive with patient adopters who are committed to helping him build confidence through positive, reward-based experiences. He can be sensitive to close handling, particularly around his head, so his new family will need to respect his boundaries and continue working on positive touch and consent-based interactions. He may also be unsure of new objects, sounds, and even toys, requiring gentle encouragement and reassurance as he learns that new experiences can be fun and rewarding.

A smart boy, Nugget already knows sit, shake, and lie down, and his strong food motivation makes him an excellent candidate for ongoing training and enrichment activities. Feeding meals through enrichment toys or puzzles is highly recommended to keep his mind engaged.

Nugget would be best suited to a home with older, calm, and respectful children who can meet him prior to adoption. He must also meet any resident dogs, as he has previously lived with other dogs but can be tense and unsure when meeting unfamiliar dogs.
