About Dahlia

Dahlia is a bright, active young girl looking for a home that can match her enthusiasm for life. Friendly, affectionate, and incredibly people-focused, she loves being part of the action and spending time with her family. This lovely young lady has missed a lot of early puppy training; her new owners must be prepared to spend a lot of time training her to be the best dog she can be as she gets older.

As a young working breed, Dahlia will thrive with an active household committed to not only providing training but also providing plenty of exercise, enrichment and adventure. She especially loves playing fetch and will happily drop the ball at your feet, ready for the next throw.

Dahlia has a lovely nature but is recommended to older children / teens due to her lack of early training, she would be too much for younger children to play with. She is also very social with other dogs and may enjoy living with a canine companion.

Like many shelter dogs, Dahlia may need a little time to settle into a new environment and build confidence in her routine. She can become stressed when left alone, showing signs of separation anxiety, so she is best suited to a home where someone is around for much of the day and willing to continue helping her feel comfortable with independence.

With patience, love, and plenty of fun activities, Dahlia will make a wonderful and devoted companion. A secure yard with recommended 5-foot fencing is required. Not tested with cats.
