About Zay

Zay is a beautiful 7-year-old Domestic Medium Hair with a soft coat and an even softer heart. This lovely lady may be a little shy at first, but with patience and understanding, she blossoms into a sweet and gentle companion. Zay thrives in a calm, predictable environment and will need a thoughtful introduction to her new home. To set her up for success, she should begin in a small "launch room" where she can settle in and feel safe before gradually exploring the rest of the house. Large, open spaces can feel overwhelming to her at first, so slow and steady wins the race with Zay. Her new home should include plenty of enrichment and safe spaces, such as: Scratching posts and cat trees Cozy hiding spots like cardboard boxes or cat igloos Access to shelves or dressers so she can perch up high Multiple safe spaces throughout the home, both high and low Zay will do best with a patient and understanding adopter who recognizes that she may be timid in a new environment. She'll need time to decompress and build trust before showing her true personality - but once she does, you'll see just how special she is. She would do well in a home with respectful teens who understand basic cat body language and know when to give her space. Zay prefers to be the only cat in the home, as she has shown some signs of being reactive to other cats in the shelter environment. While she may potentially coexist with a very calm, social feline, she will most likely thrive as the center of your world.
