Hi! My name is Lucky!
My sister Lucy and I spent our early life on the streets as strays - we don't know what happened to our mother. Some kind people noticed us hanging around their garden without any mother to care for us and brought us to the shelter. We were so scared at first, we just huddled together in the corner of our cat condo. Then we went to a foster home and after a month of patient care and routine, we learned to trust our foster carer, enjoyed playing with lots of toys and started to come over to cautiously sniff and then initiate head bumps on their hand. Each day we feel more confident although unexpected movement and loud noise can still make us run and hide.
Some things to know about me:
- I need a quiet home with people who understand I need time to adjust to my new surroundings
- a home without young children as I will find their energy and noise level very scary even though they don't mean to frighten me!
- lots of toys please! I am a playful kitten once I feel safe and venture out to explore my new world
- once I have settled in and get to know you, I am open to some affection and enjoy leaning into slow pats around my face and along my back although I'm a little head shy - hands coming down over my head can make me flinch sometimes. I've become a bit of a lap cat lately - curling up for a short nap to recharge my batteries for some more play!
- being adopted with my sister would be the best! We have so much fun together after our scary start on the streets, but if that's not possible, then I think I'll be ok if I have a kind, patient person to play with me and lots of fun toys to keep me entertained when you're out of the house
Other pets at home? No worries! - If you choose to adopt a cat that is suitable to live with other animals, it is important that a slow introduction over the course of a few weeks is followed, to ensure a smooth transition into your home for your newly adopted friend, and to not upset any existing furry residents! Please ask our staff for more information.
