My Size is: Expected to be Medium-Large as an Adult
Hi, I am Scooby!
I am a friendly guy who will quite happily be your shadow (or close by). While I have been with my foster family I have lived with a small older dog and a cat and older children, I have met other dogs, big and small and also younger children (who I loved!). I have got along with all the dogs I've met but do prefer a gentle introduction if the other dog is very exuberant but then I am happy to run around and play with them! I LOVE food and treats. As soon as I know its breakfast or dinner time I go and sit in my crate as this is where I get fed. I know sit very well and am getting better at my recall and 'drop'. I sleep all night on my bed next to my doggie pal outside of my foster parents bedroom. I can walk on a lead with a harness and love going for walks, my foster mum takes treats with her to help with my training.
I have only ever chewed my own toys and I have a few to choose from. I am allowed inside and do spend lots of time in there, I really LOVE couch cuddles.. I love being around people so a family would be great but as long as your happy to spend time with me I am happy to! I am an affectionate, kind puppy who is always willing to learn and do the right thing.
Puppies are just so cute, but we are a big responsibility. My new family will need to be prepared to commit to training me, socialising me, and include me in their family for my entire lifetime. Training is very important for all dogs, and puppies are no exception!
The earlier we learn our foundation behaviours like sitting, polite greetings, and walking nicely on lead the more prepared for life we will be as adult dogs. Puppy training classes will be an amazing resource to help set me up on the right path in life. I need to be indoors and will need your help learning where is appropriate to toilet. As I am exploring the world I will mouth, rip things, dig, and jump. It is your responsibility to help me learn what you would like me to do in a positive and fun way.
When it comes to other dogs, as I am only a young pup, I have not met many dogs outside of my littermates yet. It is important you take me to force free training to learn appropriate dog interactions. If you have cats at home, please talk to the RSPCA team about the best way to introduce us! If you think you will have the time and patience, and the ability to provide me with everything I need then maybe we could be the perfect match.
Please come in to meet me but be aware that puppies usually go quickly and we operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
