This gorgeous 14-month-old Ridgeback mix is a smart and energetic young boy looking for a home that can help him continue to grow into the wonderful dog he has the potential to be.

He is a jumpy and excitable young dog who can become aroused quickly, so he will need ongoing training, consistency and an owner who understands young, energetic dogs. The good news is that he does settle down, and once calm he is quite respectful and happy to engage with you and have cuddles

He is a clever boy who wants to learn and would really benefit from someone willing to put the time into training and giving him appropriate outlets for his energy.

He absolutely loves his toys and is particularly lovely about sharing them — he is happy to trade his toys out, which is a great foundation for continued training around resources.

He also loves other dogs and would ideally enjoy having a friendly, confident larger-breed dog to play with and keep him company. A suitable canine companion could be a wonderful match for him.

He has previously lived with two younger children, but unfortunately he has simply become too big and boisterous for small children, so he is now looking for a home with older children who are confident and able to cope with an excitable, energetic young dog.

He is still very much a big puppy in a teenage dog's body, and with the right guidance, boundaries and training, he has all the makings of a fantastic companion.
