About Dash
Hello out there!
My name is Dash, pleased to meet you!
I'm a shy little fella who is quite sensitive to the world and all the things going on. I have grown up in confinement with no real socialization with people, so I'm learning how to be a dog and am starting to like the things called humans! I've made some pretty big improvements while in care, the staff are oh so proud of me, but I still have a way to go so I will need to go home with a patient experienced owner who knows a little bit about timid and fearful dogs. I have a great independence in me, I love to explore on my own and play with toys, I'll come check on you occasionally, but I'd prefer to do my own thing. Since I'm a little timid I'm best suited to a home with adults only and no children, I've never met them before and oh man they sound terrifying! I've had a crate since I've been in care, it's my safe spot where no one can bother or touch me, this will need to go home with me so I can retreat and decompress when I need to.
I love other smaller dogs, they give me the confidence I need to engage in this world, so I must go home with another social confident dog to lead the way for me. I'm not suited as a busy cafe dog or a lap dog, but if I can find my person who will be patient and willing to build a strong bond with me, I might slowly be able to venture out more with your support! I'm working on my toilet training, so I will need a safe secure yard I can access when I need to, just to limit any mishaps, but If they do happen, I will need an understanding owner who won't get cross with me.
If you think a little shy dog like me could be your new special friend, please fill out an application form and my people will be in touch! Please keep in mind I will require multiple meets with you and your other dog, so you must live within driving distance and be ready to make a few trips for me. I'm also on some special behavior medication to help with my anxieties, so the staff will organize my Vet to call you to explain all of this too!
