Hi my name is Sadie!

I am a lovely little kelpie looking for my forever home. I came to the shelter as a stray and was unfortunately never reconnected with my owner, so I'm looking for a new family that will love me and look after me so that I never find myself lost and alone again.

I am a sweet, sensitive girl, but true to my breed I am a little pocket rocket once I get going! I love to run and chase balls, and I love playing in water. Once I have a good run I'm happy to curl up on the couch with a chew or potter around the yard. I love the company of my humans, but I do also enjoy my independent time and will be happy to do my own thing when you have things to do. I am a smart, active girl that will benefit from physical and mental stimulation throughout the day. I enjoy having a job to do and getting to put my busy brain to work! I would be best suited to a home with indoor/outdoor access and a decent sized yard/property.

I haven't had a huge amount of exposure to other dogs so sometimes they can make me a bit uncomfortable, I am interested in them and can be social at times however sometimes they are a bit too much for me. I am a typical working breed, and seeing other dogs or animals moving can also kick start my herding instincts, so I will do best in a home with no other dogs, no small animals and no young children.

My perfect forever home would be one with a decent sized yard where I can choose to be inside or outside, and an active family with knowledge or experience with working dogs that will know how to ensure my needs are met and continue with my positive reinforcement training. I really am the sweetest girl with so much love to give, I am just SO excited to meet my new people and settle into a home I can call my own.
