About Mellow

Hello there, my name is Mellow! I'm a big playful young guy looking for my new home! I'd suit a home with experienced large breed owners, where I can be included as part of the family, coming both inside and outdoors, as well as joining you for regular walks, or simply snuggling up on a nice soft bed by your feet of an evening. My new home will need to have secure solid fencing to help keep me safe at home and any children will need to be over 12 years of age and confident around dogs, as I can be a big goofy boy at times and forget my size. There is still much to learn about this big, beautiful world. I would benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement training to help me be the best dog I can be! Training takes time, practice and patience, along with lots of love and yummy treats which is all I will ask from you. I know sometimes you have to go out, if you leave me with some fun toys, yum treats, fresh water bowl and a sheltered, snuggly bed, I should be safe and happy until you get home. I would benefit from daily enrichment and interactive feeders to help keep my mind and body active. I would benefit from having a safe space all of my own, like a crate, where I can go to relax and unwind when things get a bit much for me. The shelter staff recommend crate training me and can provide a helpful guide to help things go smoothly. I get along well with other dogs of a similar, playful and friendly nature, so if you have another dog at home, please bring them in to meet me to make sure we will be friends.
