Hi, I’m Butterscotch!

I’m a gentle and loving adult Golden Retriever with a golden coat that matches my warm heart. Though I’m all grown up, I’ve had minimal life experience so far, which means I’m still learning some of the basics. I’m looking for a special home where I can get the ongoing training I need to become the best companion I can be. An experienced owner who understands the nuances of dog training will really help me flourish.

I thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, as I need consistent companionship and guidance. I also enjoy having both indoor and outdoor access. I love spending time outside, but I also need a comfortable and safe indoor space where I can feel secure and relaxed.

It’s important for me to be in a calm environment, so I’d do best in a home without children. I can be a bit sensitive, and a quieter setting will help me feel more at ease. In my foster home I have shown to be possessive of my food which is another reason why I would do best with an adult only household. This is important to note because although I may be able to live with another dog, we would have to be fed separately and my adopters will need to be cautious about not leaving food out that we could possibly fight over.
