About Bala shark
Bala Shark (Balantiocheilos melanopterus)
Also known as the Bala Shark, this peaceful species can grow quite large and thrives in spacious aquariums. They appreciate having rocks to graze algae from and logs or other structures to use as refuge. While generally a good community fish, they should not be kept with very small tank mates, as their size and speed can be intimidating. Bala Sharks readily accept a varied diet, including high-quality dry, fresh, and frozen foods. Feed once a day, preferably when the tank lights are on.
