Hi, I’m Duke,

I’m a young Husky/Shepherd mix with a gentle heart and a timid soul. The world can feel like a big, confusing place sometimes, so I’m taking things one step at a time — with soft voices, slow introductions, and a lot of patience.

New people, noises, and environments can be overwhelming for me, which is why I need to meet all family members before heading home. I’m still figuring out how to interact with other dogs too, so I’ll need to meet all dogs first to make sure we’re a good match. A calm, confident dog friend might be just what I need.

What I’m really looking for is a quiet/calm household where I can feel safe, settle in slowly, and learn that the world isn’t so scary after all. I’d also love indoor/outdoor access with a yard — having a secure yard helps me feel more comfortable when I need a break or some fresh air and especially for when I first come home, I may not be ready for walks straight away. I am not suited to apartment living.

I’m not the kind of dog who will leap into your lap on day one, but if you move at my pace, I’ll show you just how sweet and loyal I can be!
