About Grey
Hi, I'm Grey
My best friend Isabel and I are on the lookout for a forever home. We came into care after our owner became ill and couldn't look after us anymore. We were a bit scared at first, but after some time in foster care, we have settled in to a nice routine and are starting to find joy in life again. We have had vet checks and regular worming and lice treatments and it's finally time for us to move on. We aren't a typical "pet" bird - in fact, we're not even cockatiels. We're a native breed called a Bourkes Parrot. We will require an aviary or large cage where we can be housed together and still have the choice to move away from you as we don't enjoy being handled too often.
Here's what our foster carer had to say about my personality:
Grey is a big bird in a small body. Very protective of Isabel. Grey will let you know when things don't go her way - She is vocal when she is happy and has the most beautiful chirp, but you will also know when she is frustrated or annoyed! She hasn't been upset with us for a few weeks now, but in the beginning she would call out if we even looked at her or Isabel wrong. Grey is more brave and outgoing, the first to try new things (but don't be fooled it is Isabel that you need to win over). Grey is cheeky and you will need to watch her or she will try to eat your breakfast or yell at your other birds because she wants all the toys.
If you think you have space for us in your home, please apply through the link and we'll hopefully meet you soon!
