About Foxie

Hi, I’m Foxie – a sweet, sensitive little soul with a soft heart and gentle spirit. I’m a small mixed breed dog, and while I may be a little unsure at first, I really do want to connect – I just need a bit of time and understanding to help me feel safe.

With people, I tend to show what’s called appeasing behaviour – things like fast tail wags, lowered ears, or rolling over – it’s just my way of saying, “I’m trying my best, please go slow with me.” Because of this, I’ll need to meet all family members ahead of time so everyone can learn how to read my body language and help me feel comfortable in my new home.

I’d also much prefer to be the only dog in the home! I've tried making friends in the shelter, however I prefer to avoid other dogs and get quite nervous around them, so being the only doggo in the household best suits me!

I’m not quite ready to head out for walks straight away – I’ll need about a week to settle into my new home and routine first – so I’ll need a house with secure indoor/outdoor access (no apartments, please). A quiet backyard where I can explore at my own pace would be perfect.

If you’re the kind of person who understands that connection takes time and are happy to go at my pace, I promise you – I’ll make it worth the wait. I’m ready for a soft landing and a kind heart to call my own.
