Hi there, I'm Misty!

I'm a gorgeous Australian Kelpie who LOVES to be as close to my people as possible! Like many of my breed, I'm very soft natured and need my people to guide me and give me feedback about how well I am doing.

I haven't had a lot of experience out there in the big wide world, so I am really looking for a home that can really take me under their wing and protect me and keep me safe first and foremost - then in time, teach about some of the new things that the world has to offer.

I'm looking for a home that has owned kelpies like me before and if you have kids, they will need to be 12yr+. I'll need to meet the whole family to make sure we truly understand each other.
While I have lived with other dogs, because I can get a little overwhelmed I am looking for a single dog home for now and I'll need my owners home more often than not while I'm learning to fit in. I'd like to be primarily indoors initially (or where ever you are!), and I can get pretty focused sometimes so no cats, pocket pets, birds or poultry.

I take special medication to help me with my feeling sometimes, so you will need to talk to my behaviour vet before you can take me home. I know that all sounds like a lot, but really, I'm a special and gorgeous girl and all the staff here know that the right person is going to be so lucky to have me.

Because I have some special needs, you won't be able to just come to the shelter and meet me... there's a special form for you to fill in first so we can make sure we're right for each other!
