Hi, I’m Shadow!

Since I’m a black cat, I guess it’s only fair to admit I’m basically a professional hide-and-seek champion. You might not see me… but trust me, I’m definitely watching you from over there.

I’m a gentle, sweet soul who’s still trying to figure out how you humans work. I’m learning, slowly but surely, that you’re not so scary after all. The lovely RSPCA team has been giving me time, patience, and kindness, and it’s helped me start coming out of my shell, just a little peek at a time.

I show affection in subtle ways. Mostly, I like to share my love simply by being in your presence. I am not the biggest fan of touch, I can tolerate some once I get to know and trust you, but I prefer it in small doses and when I chose please!

Cats like me tend to stay a bit reserved even once we settle in shelter, but the staff are hopeful that in a real home, the right home, I’ll continue to blossom.

Because I’m a sensitive guy, I’d be happiest in a quiet, calm household with no children under 12. Predictability helps me feel safe, and safety helps me grow.
